Engraving. Linen backing. Map of Great Britain coloured to show military operations between 1745 & 1746. The prince's course from France and his marches through Britin marked in red and his route after the Battle of Culloden and his return to France marked in blue. General Cope's, General Wade's, The Duke of Cumberland's, General Oglethorpe's and General Haniley's routes by land and water coloured. Cities named and cathedral cities marked with pictorial elevations of cathedrals. Counties named. Lond explanations of the Prince's movements. Timeline giving the the battles and movements of the prince between 1745 and 1746. Pictorial elevations of ships in the surrounding seas. Title in baroque style cartouche. Decorative frame in lower corner of the plan showing unicorn and part of Lion but with inscription or dedication torn out. |
