Admin History This office was established originally in the County Buildings in Ayr by Strathclyde Regional Archives in 1975. Following further local government reorganisation in 1992 it became an amalgamation of the three new single tier authorities who became the successors to both Strathclyde Region and the old Ayrshire County Council and burghs. A full time archivist was appointed and the collection was moved to premises in Craigie Estate. From there the collection was moved to a new temporary home in Auchincruive Estate in 2009.
