Arrangement
It was felt that the present collection, presented in 1972 by Bulloch?s niece, Miss Barbara Greenhill, should be kept together under Bulloch?s name in the manuscript department, although much of it is in printed form. An exception was made for some volumes of John Bulloch, senior, which were removed from MS 2798 to join MS 2482, the collected family papers of J. M. Bulloch?s parents. Distinctions which allow for a convenient arrangement are made between manuscripts, typescripts, printed volumes and collected extracts, but these categories inevitably show some duplication.

Related Material
Aberdeen University Library holds many manuscript collections and printed volumes which were presented by Dr. Bulloch (LL.D. 1921) and which bear his personal bookplate. There is as yet no single listing of these items, which were gifted at many different times. Some, such as the historical collections concerning his Gordon family researches (MS 3051) and the numerous local pamphlets, are readily identifiable. Other volumes, such as works by different authors which are annotated by Bulloch, can be found in the general library stock.
