Account of a tour through parts of the Highlands and north-east of Scotland, by chaise, boat and on ponies from Edinburgh and back by way of Glasgow, Dumbarton, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Inverarg and Oban. They then travelled to Mull, Staffa and Iona and back to Ulva, through the counties of Argyll and Inverness to Fort William and Inverness and down the north-east coast through Nairn, Forres, Elgin, Banff, Fraserburgh, Peterhead and Ellon to Aberdeen and south by Kincardineshire, Angus and Fife, then via the ferry to Edinburgh.

An unknown author, apparently Scottish by birth but resident elsewhere. His companion, 'Mr Brown', seems to be familiar with Glasgow and Mr Jamieson who had originally planned to go with them belonged to that city.
