Description |
'Reference book to the farms on the south side of Loch Tay.' By John McArthur, surveyor. 238 x 334 x 28 mm. Ink. Leather binding, Bind tooling. 100 pages. This volume contains (for each farm): present rent, possessor(s), mark lands and plughs, sowing (oats and bear) and stocking (cows, horses harrowers, sheep, goats); soil quality, acreages of corftland, outfield, meadow, pasture, wood, moor and moss, with written assesments of the soil, drainage, outfields etc. 'A general account of the south side of Loch Tay': officiaries of Clochrane, Ardeonage and Wester Ardeonage, Easter Ardeonage, Ardtalnage, Taymouth. 'A general account of the officiaries on the south side of Loch Tay' and 'A List of the farms on the south side of Loch Tay & by whom they are possesed', naming farms and tenents. A carbon copy of letter dated 20th February 1934, from William Angus, curator of Historical Records, to the Rev W A Gillies, Manse of Kenmore, Aberfeldy, regarding the deposit of this volume is attched to the inner side of the front board. |
