(On reverse) 'Ane draught of the Coles of Shirriffhall Marching with the Lands of Woolmette now belonging to Maior Biggar, 1678.' Drawn by Lord Wemyss Scale. 395 x 605 mm. This sketch plan drawn by Lord Wemyss in 1678 shows the coal works belonging to two neighbouring properties, Sheriffhall and Woolmet (Qulmitte), at Newton, Edinburgh. There is a simple scale on the top margin and some measurements are given. Features includes many annotations across outlines of buildings and roads. Orientated with north to the right. |
