Description |
Untitled. By Walter Newall, surveyor, Dumfries. [1:240] 1 inch = 20 feet. 460 x 272 on sheet 317 x 488 mm. Ink and colour wash. Street plan of Dumfries, showing properties on either side of Assembly Street, with paper flaps acting as liftable building elevations. Properties illustrated with elevations are Dr Laing and Mr Adamson's houses; the Assembly Rooms and Mr Dickson's cabinet shop. Some windows and doors on elevations are marked with letters and some numbers are written on plan. Street names, shops and proprietors are noted. Note on plan regarding omission of ornaments on front of Assembly Rooms. Similar plan at RHP81845. |
