'A Plan of Part of the River Tweed Disputed by Sir Francis Blake and James Couts, Esq[ui]r[e]'. By John Ainslie. [1:800] 1 inch = 1 Imperial chain. 672 x 1272 mm. Ink and colour wash. Plan of River Tweed showing ringnet fishing, fords, dam dyke and boat landing. Upper and Lower Hallywell, Westford, Upsetlington and Sand shield, Norham town with church and castle (Northumberland) noted. Pictorial cartouche.Reverse has parts of another plan attached together. |
