Description |
'Plan of the improvement of the Forth and Clyde Navigation at Grangemouth'. Engraved by [W & D Lizars, Edinburgh]. [1:3200] 1 inch = 4 [Imperial] chains. 520 x 755 mm. Coloured. Engraving. Linen backing. Plan of Grangemouth and River Carron coloured to show proposed improvements including Mr Rennie's ship canal, cut for Grange Burn, wet dock of 10 acres and Mr Baird's proposed railroad. Kerse offices, Carron Company's feu, dry dock timber basin and Forth and Clyde Canal noted. Old meander of Carron River, island formed by New Cut in 1783 and old boathouse shown.
