'This Map of Argyllshire Taken from Actual Survey Is most humbly dedicated To His Grace John Duke of Argyll &c &c &c'. By George Langlands & Son, land surveyors. Engraved by S. J. Neele. Published by George Langlands & son, Campbeltown. 1 inch = 2 British statute miles. 1524 x 1223 mm. Engraving. Linen backing. Varnished. Map of Argyllshire with towns and villages named. Pictorial elevations of ships in the surrounding waters. Referances to the districts given. Table giving heights of the most remarkable hills. Table of distances from Inveraray to the Gentlemans seats and principle places in the shire. Title is in a pictorial scene showing fishermen, shephards, cattle, and horses with a farmer ploughing a field. Inset Plan of Campbeltownwith buildings marked, pictorial elevations of ships in the harbour and explanations. Inset South view of Inveraray Castle including section of the tank story.
