Plan of the island of Inchkeith - showing the sites for proposed batteries purchased by the government in 1859, with the position of the boundary stones to identify the same.' Enlarged from Ordnance Survey 6 inch plan. Signed by C F Skyring, Colonel [1860]. Tracing by Charles Bowen, Lieutenant, Royal Engineers, 16 Aug 1860 and later traced by N B McDermott, 12 Oct 1860. [1:2640] 2 feet = 1 mile. 775 x 655 mm. Ink and colourwash on tracing linen. Annotated in ink. Table of references. Compass rose. Plan of the island showing battery sites. Location of wells, fort, harbours, and lighthouse shown. Additional 1/8 of an acre site at 'Site A' noted close to north-west battery. |
