'A plan of the Earl of Stair's estate lying in the parish of New Luce'. By John Gillone [1:10,700] 1 in = 12 Scottish chains 105 x 161 cm Plan, RHP4605/1 coloured to show boundaries of farms of High and Laigh Airyolland, High and Laigh Balneil Several, Balneil Parks, Barlure, Barnshangan, Closs, Craigbirnoch, Craigoch, Dirniemow, Low and High Dougaries, Dranigower, Drumphail and Glenchamber, Garvilland, Galdenock and Gleniron, Laigh and High Galdernock, Gleniron Several, Glenkitten, Glenwhilly, Killfeddar, Kilhirn, Knockiebae, Lagangarn, Markdow, marklaugh Snd Pultodie. Runrig lands of each farm numbered to correspond with detailed table of contents on RHP4605/2 giving 'Description of Soil' and land use under headings arable, meadow, and moor and moss. Steadings, cottages, herd's house, glebe and kirk, arable, moss/moorland, trees, stone dykes, ditches, sykes or hollows, lochs, streams including Water of Luce, Cross Water and Tarf Water, mineral spring, roads, bridge and county boundary with Ayrshire noted. Relief by pen strokes. Vignette of loch and waterfall. Adjacent lands and proprietors named including Earls of dumfries and Stair, Mr Dunlop, Alex Hannah, John Dalrymple Hay, Gilbert Macmeekan, F Maitland, Major Ross and David Sproat.
