'River Eden improvement. Plan of river from Pitlessie mill to Dunshelt showing proposed straightening of channel'. By James Leslie [1:1800] 1 inch = 150 feet. 2940 x 630 mm. Dissected into 3 sheets. Ink and colourwash. Annotated in ink and graphite. Linen backing. Plan coloured to show existing and new river courses with proposed embankments. Lands of Heatherinch, Drumtenant, Shiells, Bowhouse, Raecruick, Nochnary, Lathrisk Home Farm, Ramornie Home Farm, Wester Kilwhiss, and ballomill, steadings, mills of Orkie, Pitlessie and ramornie, roads, streams, Shiells Bridge, Pitlessie Bridge, drainage ditches, mill lade, buildings, railway, woodland and parish boundaries noted. Djacent proprietors named including George Johnston, Earl of Glasgow, F L M Herriot and Mrs T bruce. Plans giving coloured longitudinal and cross-sections, which are marked on original plan, [vertical scale 1:72] showing inclinations, distances, water, existing topography and embankments - RHP 4478-4480. (RHP4473, 4475-4477 give coloured sketches of the various protection works for the embankments [scale 1 ;24] showing mode of construction and dimensions. RHP4473 also gives cost per linear yard and RHP4475 a note on how the work should be carried out.) Part of Auchtermuchty, Collessie and Strathmiglo parishes included. |
