Description 'Eyemouth harbour. Proposed improvements'. By Thomas Meik & Son, Civil Engineers, Edinburgh. Lithographer unknown.
[1:5220] 1 in = 435 ft. 430 x 270 mm. Hand coloured.
Plan showing proposed new quays, jetty, and piers. Soundings outside harbour and amount of deepening needed in channel and harbour in feet below low water at ordinary spring tides. Proposed extension of harbour at mouth of Rive Eye, weir and rocks to be removed, old piers, beaching basins, rocks, coastal features, village of Eyemouth, church, gasworks, St Ella's Lodge, remains of Eyemouth Fort, old barracks, Northburn Mill, Brown's Bank, Gunsgreen, roads and field boundaries. Note concerning rise of Spring water at spring and neap tides.. Annotated to show locations of Gasworks and St Ella's Lodge.
