'Plan of march between the Roxburgh Estate and Sharpetlaw in the River Tweed'. By James Jardine, Edinburgh. Engraved by J Craig [1:1200] 1 in = 102 ft 69 x 39 cm Plan of a boundary in the River Tweed in reference to a dispute over the conflicting interests of fishing and a mill dam. Springhall Mill, mill dam, ice sluice, Sharpetlaw House, Sharpetlaw island, gravel bank, river depths, and road noted. Coloured to show land owned by George Waldie of Sharpetlaw, the Duke of Roxburghe and Robert Walker. Five cross-sections of river with depths. Report of 'Mr Jardine Engineer' concerning the dispute attached. Part of Sprouston parish included. |
