Description |
'Plan of the common called The Smithy Muir'. By John Innes [1:2300] 1 in = 2.6 Scottish chains 43 x 64 cm Plan of commonty coloured to show the boundary and encroachments made by the tenants of Mr Keith, Mr Allardyce and Mr Murray, which are numbered to correspond with a table of contents. Valuation sections of the common are numbered with acreage and value per acre noted. Old kiln of Halmyres, old sheep cots, cairns and roads noted. Adjacent cornlands, farms with tenants and proprietors noted. Relief by brush wash. Explanation and note referring to those who had pointed out the boundary of the commonty. Endorsed four times between 1800 and 1810 and additions referring to division made to plan. |
