'Plan of the roads between Linton and Penicuik referred to in the process, Sir George Clerk and others v John Welsh, Esq, Clerk to the Trustees of Peebles-shire roads'. By Robert Bauchop. [1:800] 1 inch = 1 Imperial chain. 1550 x 520 mm. Ink and colourwash. Linen backing. Compass rose. Plan of the roads between West Linton and Penicuik coloured to show turnpike roads, parish roads metalled, roads not metalled, and 'roads through Penicuik Policy and farms said to have been metalled by Sir George Clerk' Steadings of Cornbank, Auchencorth, Harlaw Muir House, Harbour Craig, Kitleyknowe, South Mains, Woburn, Carpet, Hartside, West Mains, Fairslacks, Stonypath, Leadlaw, Deanfoot, Nether Whitfield, Deepsykehead, and Cauld Shoulders, Penicuik House, Brunstane Castle, Rutherford Castle, coal workings, colliers' houses, limestone quarry and kiln, sheep stell, dykes, gates, River Esk and minor streams, land in Harlaw Muir which had been under cultivation and the march between the lands of Sir George Montgomery and Sir George Clerk noted.
