'A chart of that part of the Solway Firth and adjacent counties necessary for the explaining of the proof in the cause between the Most Noble the Marquis of Annandale and The Right Honourable the Viscount of Stormont'. By James Tait [1:17,000] 1 in = 500 yds 135 x 93 cm Plan coloured to show the lands owned by the Marquis of Annandale,Viscount of Stormont and others, made in response to a court order of 12 December 1771 in respect of a dispute over fishing rights. Sandbanks, channels, tributaries, prominent features of the terrain, Cummertrees Kirk, a bridge, towns including Annan and Cummertrees, and farms noted. The farms owned by the Marquis of Annandale include Seafield, Milbie, Redgatehead, Millfield and Little Dumfries. Those owned by the Viscount of Stormont are divided into recently acquired and long possessed farms and include Riddendyke, Nether and Upper Priestside, Howcreek, and Burn. Other farms noted in Scotland include Broom, Broomstell, Ryehill and Netherfield. In Cumberland the villages of Cardurnock and Skinburness, and Anthorn (Entrin) Windmill noted.
