Description |
'Memorial, with sketches, relating to the construction of the Forth and Clyde Canal'. No scale 20 x 32 cm Two sketches of the proposed new cutting at the mouth of the River Carron at its junction with the Forth and Clyde canal. The first shows the River Carron from the Carron Wharf to the Firth of Forth. Qx-bows, Grange Burn, the canal with sea lock, and Heuk farm noted. The second concentrates on the lower reaches of the river showing two cuts across the neck of meanders in the river. Canal, sea lock, Grange Burn, and Heuk farm noted. On reverse side a detailed plan of boats to be used as dredgers and a sketck of their proposed anchorage in the cutting. Sketches of four different spades to be used. |
