Description |
'A Plan of the Town and Harbour of Peterhead with the Sea coast adjacent accurately Surveyed anno 1775.' By J.S. [?Weir], surveyor. Scale in Scots chains (of 74 feet). Ink. Pictorial plan of the town and harbour of Peterhead and of the adjacent coast from Buchan Ness (Boddum head) north to Roanheads, including an inset 'draught of the harbour ... with Mr Smeaton's proposed projection of the piers, also a draught of the intended cut and quays' and with a tabular 'calculation of the expence by John Gwyn, Engineer'. Perspective views of buildngs near harbour. Compass rose. Produced in a petition by the merchants of Peterhead to the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, for aid in completing the harbour. |
