Description |
'Plan of the Estate of Ochiltree, the property of the Right Hon Archibald John, Earl of Rosebery'. By John Bell, land surveyor, Edinburgh. [1:2700] 1 in = 3 Scottish chains 124 x 71 cm Estate plan coloured to show farms including Ochiltree, Ochiltree Place, and Kippetstone, Oldhill, Little Ochiltree, Ochiltree Mill in Linlithgow parish; and East and West Broadlaw in Ecclesmachan parish. Land use indicated - arable, pasture, wood and rough grazing. Fields numbered to correspond with acreages given in table of contents. Steadings, limestone quarry, drove road and roads noted. Relief by grey brush wash. Names of adjacent proprietors including Earl of Hopetoun, Earl of Selkirk, Captain Stewart, James Johnstone, Thomas Sharpe and Hunter of Thurstone. |
