Description |
'Plan of the Unintailed Lands belonging to The Residuary Legatees of the late John, Duke of Roxburghe'. Copied from Mr [Matthew] Stobie's plans made in 1769 by Wm[William] Crawford Jnr, surveyor, 1820. [c 1:3600] No scale 939 x 1318 mm Ink and colour wash. Relief in grey wash. Linen backing. Detailed plan of Kelso and surrounding lands bounded by Eden Water to north. Floors Castle to west and the parish boundary to east. Plan of town with buildings numbered to correspond with function given in table. Runrig and enclosures shown with occupants' names and acreages. Abbey, glebe, common pasture, Kelso bridge and roads noted. Table of contents. Coloured. Inset 'Sketch from the County map showing the Relative Situation of the Lands and other Subjects' coloured to show the lands around Kelso and the farm of Clifton, Crookedshaws, Woodside, Plainlawgreen and Ruehope in Morebattle parish; Shankfoot in Eckford parish; and Samieston in Oxnam parish. |
