Description |
'Plan of the farm of Packstone, part of the Lands and Barony of Blairmucks'. By Thomas Johnston [1:3600] in = 4 Scottish chains (Scots chain of 74 4/5 ft used). 750 x 767 mm. Ink and colour wash. Annotated in graphite. Linen backing. Explanation attached on side panel.. Farm plan of Paxtane showing steadings of Gibshill. Arable lands and moss indicated. Coal grieves, colliers' houses, coal pits (new and gin), great dyke, flax, (water) mill and road to Edinburgh noted. Separate table of contents giving field-names, acreages and land use. Names of adjacent lands and proprietors including Duke of Hamilton and Mr Baillie. Compass rose. Graphite decorative detail around title. |
