Description |
'Part of Achnahaird' By [William Morison], surveyor. [1: 10447] 1 inch = 11.8 Scots chains. 312 x 449 mm on sheet 337 x 465 mm. Ink and colour wash. Plan of Achnahaird, Ross and Cromarty, showing proposed stone fence from Lochnabattachan (Loch Bhattachan) to the sea (at Achnahaird Bay); a stone dyke from Loch Vulen (Loch Ruadh) to the sea; and a stone dyke running from Loch Battachan to the burn (Allt a' Mhuillinn). Noted are terrains, enclosures of cultivated lands, lochs, burns and sheiling. A table for 'Expence of inclosing' is given, which includes expenditure for ditches, stone dykes and feal dykes and the place-names: Lochvulen, Lochvrae, Runabriack, Leorchircaig, Lachanfad, Lochanshap and [Eslebrechy]. |
