Description |
'Plan of the common or commonty of Coldingham.' Surveyed by Alexander Low. [1:3200] 1 inch = 4 Imperial chains. Ink and colourwash. Linen backing. Hand stitched edging. Cartouche surrounding title and scale with drawings of human faces. Table of explanation. Ornate compass rose. Plan of the commonty of Coldingham from the boundary with the lands of Old Cambus to the Whitfield lands, and from the lands of Lumsdain to the lands of Renton. Mosses, burns, rivers, buildings, cairns, roads, boundaries, and marches shown. Landscape features noted. Fields named and numbered. Feuars' and allotment holders' names given. Lot numbers shown as assigned by the valuators. Table of explanation of symbols and markings and explanation of allotments after division. Neighbouring proprietors named. Extent of proprietors' lands marked in colour on the marches. Note: 'Edin[bu[r[gh] 15th January 1773. This is the plan referred to in the interlocutor of this date pronounced by the Lord Eliock ordinary to the process of division. Ja[me]s Veitch.' |
