Description |
'Plan for Tomintoul.' Unattributed [Thomas Milne]. 1 inch = 80 feet. 545 x 442 mm. Ink and colourwash on paper. Annotated in ink. Plan marked 'a copy of the plan in the factor's hand' showing the area around Tomintoul Square [and the Main Street]. Plan shows a 300 square foot central village square with the Main Street and other roads radiating off. Numbered plots (1-48) on both sides of Main Street. Some [feuars or tenants] names noted in individual plots: George Leslie; Patrick McAlpine; John McKenzie; William Burgess; Malcolm McGregor; Mrs Grant; J Gordon Croughly. Location of school also marked. Roads to 'Grant Town' and 'Glen Livat' also noted. |
