'Plan of the Estate of Boisdale, the property of Colonel Alexander McDonald'. By William Bald [1:6300] 1½ ins = 10 Scottish chains 193 x 153 cm. Dissected into 4 sheets. Linen backing. Estate plan showing all land south of Loch Boisdale including the nucleated townships of North and South Boisdale, Garrynamonie, Smerclett and Kilbride and dispersed holdings at South Glen Dale and Moreef, Marulaig. Fields numbered to correspond with acreages and land use - arable, spade arable, lochs moor and pasture - in table of contents. Coloured to show land use. Steadings, inn, burying ground, drains and tracks noted. Inset maps of islands of Lingay and Orosay. Relief by grey brush wash. |
