Description |
'Plan of part of the Marquis of Abercorn's lands known by the name of Barskivan, marching with Mr Spier's lands of Newton and Mr Spier's coal workings towards and through the Marquis' by George Steell & John Grieve. [1:600] 1 inch = 2 chains (scale of chains 25 ft long). 392 x 483 mm. Ink and colour wash. Linen backing. Mining plan showing encroachments with boundaries of properties coloured. Road to Mr Speirs' pits, including Engine, Gin and Stair, noted. Note: 'Monkton 5th September 1798. This is the plan which refers to our report of this date. Geo Stiell. John Grieve.' |
