Perspective view of the works of the colliery, the horizontal, inclined and self-acting plans with the locomotive and other engines used on the railway and te staiths and self-discharging depot on the banks of the River Wear near Sunderland. With section of the pit and strata sunk through. With text describing the sinking of the mine and listing men involved with the development of the mine, including Robert Stephenson. |
