'A map of part of the South Common of Lochmaben &c.' By Charles Mercer, mathematician, Dumfries. Scale [1:6300] 1 inch = 7 Scottish chains. 537 x 757 mm. Ink and colour wash. Linen backing. Commonty plan coloured to show scheme of division. Farms shown include Barlouth, Thorniethwaite, Broadchapped, Hunterhall and Nichols-year. Easterly part of Torthorwald parish included. Relief shown pictorially. Features include buildings [houses]. Key and explanation. Scale surmounted by a pair of surveyor's dividers. Compass arrow. |
