Description |
'Eye Draught of the Burgh of Annan and the adjacent lands'. By J Tait [c 1:1800] No scale 54 x 14 cm Town plan of Annan and the adjacent runrig lands coloured to show marquis of Annandale's property and rigs with tenants' names. Moat, bridge, church, townhouse, mercat cross, flesh market, town yards, Gallowbank loaning, houses and roads noted. Croft lands south of Annan Hill including Greeny Flats, Wart, Back of Annan Hill, Kenziels and glebe meadow included. Coloured. Damaged. Inset inscription on stone found at the moat 'Robert de Brus Counte de Carrick et Seigneur de val de Annand 13[00'.
