'Plan of the Estate and Policy of Melville, situated on the River Esk ... belonging to The Right Hon Henry Dundas of Melville'. By John Wilson [1:2700] 1 in = 3 Scottish chains 147 x 66 cm Estate plan showing Melville Castle policies, parks and farms - East and West Melville, Grange and Todd's possession. Middle mill, Melville mill, paper mill and Elgin Haugh mill, village of Lasswade, Cleek-him-in, Bankhead, North gate, field-names and plantations noted. Coloured. Names of adjacent owners including Duke of Buccleuch, Sir John Clerk of Penicuik, Robert Baird of Gilmerton and William Simpson of Viewfield. Later additions show trees to be felled. |
