Description |
'Plan of the Town proposed to be built at Ardrossan on the property of the Right Honourable The Earl of Eglinton'. By Robert Reid, architect, Edinburgh. [1:1600] 1 inch = 2 Imperial chain. 450 x 770 mm. Ink and colour wash. Annotated in ink. Linen backing. Plan for new town of Ardrossan. Streets laid out in pattern of squares, crescents and grids. Ardrossan Castle, canal and part of harbour noted. Proposed new buildings and church marked. Note: 'The parts coloured Red shew the proposed buildings, and the part coloured yellow shew the streets and roads'. |
