Five items relating to the construction of a bridge near the approach to Penicuik House 1- 'Drawings of proposed bridge over burn under approach to Pennycuick House' February 1849. Engineer: Charles Jopp. Shows elevation, plan, section through crown of arch, longitudinal section, and plan showing site of proposed bridge. [1:120] 1 inch= 10 feet, [1:500], 1 inch= 50 feet. 527mm x 750mm. Ink on paper. Backed on linen. Ink wash used to denote various features. Signatures from Charles Jopp, John Robb, and James MacKenzie. Note: 'These are the drawings referred to in the contract for the execution of the said bridge entered into between the Right Honorable Sir George Clerk of Penicuik Baronet and us - John Robb, James MacKenzie' 2- 'Pennycuik Bridge. Specification of Bridge to be erected on the line of the approach to Pennycuick House. Edinburgh. July 5th 1849'. 12 pages 3- 'Tender for Bridge near Pennicuick House' Edinburgh 13th February 1849. 4 pages 4- 'Detailed Estimate of the work to be erected in the construction of a Bridge under the approach at Pennicuick House'.
