'Map of the Lordships of Strathaven, Glenlivat and Achendown with the lands of Glenrinnes and Forrests of Glenaven, Blackwater and Glenfiddach Belonging to his grace the Duke of Richmond'. Unattributed. Bearing a small label 'Fitted up by James Wyld, Geographer to the Queen, Charing Cross East'.
6 1/2 inches = 5 miles. 862 x 1280 mm. Ink and colour wash. Linen backing.
Map of the lordships coloured to show the different lands. Roads and rivers marked with rivers named. Hills named and relief by hachures. Adjacent lands named. [Although undated, this plan is no earlier than 1836, when the land passed from the Duke of Gordon to the Duke of Richmond.] |
