'Island of Vatersay, Barra. Plan of subdivision.' From Ordnance Survey plan. [Scottish Office Engineering Department, 122 George Street, Edinburgh]. Signed 'Walter G Coles.' 1:9600. 1 inch = 800 feet. 790 x 820 mm. Printed. Hand coloured. Annotated in ink and graphite. Dissected into 12 sheets. Linen backing. Plan of proposed subdivision of Uidh, Eorisdale, Caolas, and Vatersay. Locations of crofts, roads, reservoirs, wells, and fences noted. Areas of common land, potato ground, and croft divisions shown. Islands of Sandray, Flodday, Lingay, and Greanamul shown. Signatures or marks of crofters for each township. Note: 'This is the plan referred to in the fifty eight minutes of agreement between the Congested Districts (Scotland) Commissioners and the crofters upon the new holdings formed by the Commissioners upon the island of Vatersay, and is signed, as relative to the said agreements, by the said crofters of even dates therewith.' Stamped 'Record Copy, Head Office' and 'Scottish Office Consulting Engineer.' |
