'North British Railway. Cowdenbeath and Glen-Farg Contract, 1887. Plans & sections. Drawings nos 1, 2, 11 & 12'. By W. R. Galbraith, engineer. Lithographers, Rob[er]t J. Cook & Hammond, Broadway, Westminster. Multiple scales. 340 x 1000 mm. Lithograph. Hand coloured. Annotated in red and blue ink. Linen backing. Railway contract plans. Note: 'The plans contained in this book form nos. 1, 2, 11 and 12 of the series of plans referred to in the contract between the North British Railway Company, incorporated by Act of Parliament, and Messrs Charles Brand and Son, contractors, number one hundred and seventy two Buchanan Street, Glasgow as a company and James Brand, contractor, Glasgow as sole partner of said firm as such partner and as an individual. Dated third and tenth August eighteen hundred and eighty seven. In witness whereof this docquet written by Daniel McLauchlan, clerk to William White Millar, solicitor to the said North British Railway Company, Edinburgh is under the declaration that the words 'subscribed of even dates herewith. In witness whereof' in the fifth line are delete and together with the plans in this book subscribed by The Right Honourable Victor Alexander, Earl of Elgin and Kincardine, Broomhall, Dunfermline and George Robertson, Writer to the Signet, Edinburgh, two of the Directors, and by George Bradley Wieland, Secretary of the said North British Railway Company and sealed with the corporte seal of said company all at Edinburgh the tenth day of August in the year eighteen hundred and eighty seven, before these witnesses; John Martin and Robert Paton, both clerks in the Head Office, Edinburgh of the said North British Railway Company and are also subscribed by the said Charles Brand and Son and James Brand at Edinburgh upon the sixth day of September year last above mentioned before these witnesses, the said Daniel McLauchlan and Archibald Palethorpe, also clerk to the said William White Millar.' |
