[1:1600] 1 inch = 2 Scots chains. 735 x 1100 mm. Ink and colour wash. Linen backing.
Mining plan showing Ell and Splint Coal workings. River Clyde, Ballochmiln, Gallowflat, Eastfield Mansion House, roads, collier's houses, No 5 Pit, No 6 Pit, Wellshot Pit and old pits noted. Adjacent lands and landowners named. Note: 'The surface and coal workings are surveyed by me, with the exception of the splint coal which was copied from a plan belonging to the colliery.
