Description |
'Plan of part of Eastfield and Ballochmiln Coalfield. Main Coal workings'. By George Simpson, [surveyor]. [1:1600] 1 inch = 200 Imperial links. 655 x 990 mm. Ink and colour wash. Annotated in coloured ink. Linen backing. Mining plan showing Main Coal workings, line of barrier coal, position of coal faces at given dates and Eastfield Pit buildings. River Clyde, Ballochmiln Farm steading, road between Glasgow and Hamilton, field boundaries and distances of some points from pit noted. Adjacent lands named. Compass indicator. Note: 'This plan is copied from a plan of part of Eastfield and Ballochmiln coal field made by Mr Neil Robson dated May 1840, excepting the red lines which shew the position of the barrier of coal to be left by Mr Gray and the trustees of the late Mr Robertson in reference to Eastfield Pit (shewn on plan) from a survey made by me, 2nd Dec[ember] 1846 (signed) Geo Simpson'. |
