Description |
'Plan of the Water of Nairn, stell fishings in the sea and the lands adjacent in the process declarator at the instance of James Brodie of Brodie, Esq, against the magistrates and town council of Nairn and their vassals'. By George Brown, surveyor. [1:4900] 1 in = 5.5 [Scottish] chains 867 x 519 mm. Ink and colour wash. Relief in grey wash. Compass rose. Linen backing. Plan of the estuary of River Nairn and lands along coast including town of Nairn, Balmakeith and Lochloy and Inshoch in Auldearn parish. Cornlands of Mirrietown, burgh lands, old quarries, former channels of river, Gallow Hill and plantations noted. Land use given - arable, rough pasture and woodland. Detailed surveyor's report attached to plan. Also act and remit, dated 3 march 1797, in causa James Brodie of Brodie v the magistrates of Nairn - RHP1429/2 [16pp.] |
