'A Plan of the Lands and Estate of Brahan lying in the County of Ross and parishes of Urray, Fottery and Dingwall. The Property of Francis Humberston Mckinzie[Mackenzie] of Seaforth.' Unattributed.
No scale given. 1500 x 1340 mm. Pen and ink and grey wash. Edge bound. Linen backing.
Estate plan showing estate and field boundaries. Field names and acreages. Loch Ussie, Moor of Tully. Quality of land noted. Names of owners or tenants. Farms named. steadings etc noted. Improvements to the town and common muir of Dingwall, and to Costafinach and Ussie. Lands and farms of Costafinach, Ballblair, Kildun (Killndun), Little Ussie (Little Usy), Bogbain, Milntown, Rockengait, Tillynult, Tily Chrink, Dun Gluist, Terrtaren etc. Title within rococo cartouche. Note: 'This plan was found by me at Brahan Castle amongst the Repositories of the late Lord Seaforth (signed) J H Stewart Mackenzie, Oct 1829.' |
