'Penicuik waterworks for Messrs A Cowan & Sons, Valleyfield, by C J Wahab, CE, 1862.' By C J Wahab, civil engineer. 690 x 1070 x 40 mm. Bookcloth cover. Gilt lettering. Applied label. Contents disbound. Sketch plan and elevation of water fountain in graphite on lining paper of back cover. Items 37-39, 41 & 42 pasted onto same. Note: Charles James Wahab, civil engineer, was born in India in 1837 to Major General Charles Wahab, Indian Service, and Janet Wahab nee Cowan, daughter of Duncan Cowan, papermaker, Penicuik. He died in September 1882 on board ship in Red Sea while returning to Scotland. |
