Description |
'This book of plans comprehends the lands of Bourtreehill lying in the parishes of Irvine and Dreghorn and lands of Roselle [Rozelle] lying in the parish of Air [Ayr]...belonging in property to The Right Honourable Jean Hamilton Countess of Crawfurd. Each page contains one capital subdivision of an estate, and these pages that contain more than one farm are distinguished by different shades about the boundaries; and the contents of each respectively wrote out in a kind of abstract. There is annexed to these plans, particular copies of the contents of the whole lands, wherein are ingrossed the names of every park if they have any, with numbers in the left hand column corresponding to the numbers, to which they refer, upon the plans. There are subjoined to these contents, observations upon the soils, aspects and declivities of the grounds. That the whole might be more portable, these plans are drawn out by the same scale, with the contracted maps. Made out and drawn from an accurate survey by John Home.' By John Home, surveyor.
