'Sketch of the lands of Sherriffhall and part of Lugton belonging to His Grace the Duke of Buccleuch.' By William Crawford, land surveyor. 3 inches = 900 feet. 765 x 620 mm on sheet 770 x 660 mm. Coloured. Linen backing. Wooden rollers. Plan coloured to show field boundaries, roads and boundary line of part of the coal let to Sir John Hope. Sheriffhall, Sheriffhall mains, Summerside, Claybarns and Campend. Elevation of tower at Sheriffhall and of house at Sheriffhall mains. Smiddy and engine noted. Names of adjacent lands and owners. Later boundary line referred to in Sir John Hope's lease dated Octber 1822. Note: 'This is the plan of the lands of Sheriffhall and part of Lugton referred to in the tack by ...the Duke of Buccleuch to Sir John Hope...subscribed...at Dalkeith House the eighteenth day of October the year eighteenhundred and eight...' |
