Town plan coloured to show the 'ancient property' of the Earls of Eglinton in Ardrossan, the property sold to Lord Eglinton in 1724 and 'now the property of Lord & Lady Montgomerie', and the property of [Cunningham] of Auchenharvie (ie the harbour and rocks to the south of the town and public road). Streets named. Elevations of houses, including houses of J Cunninghame and A Wilson. Relief church, manse and gardens, Beetle hall and yard, smelting house, toll house, ropework, and salt pans noted. Explanation. Note: (on back) 'Plan of part of Saltcoats produced by Robert Reid Cunninghame Esq of Auchenharvie in causa Lord and Lady Montgomerie and others against him, 1811-12.' |
