Description |
Volume, entitled 'Ld. Mar's Plans 1700 &c.', containing architectural plans and elevations of proposed houses and proposed improvements to houses, drawn by John Erskine (d 1732), Earl of Mar, while on exile on the continent, including designs based on the royal pavilion at Marly [France], a house for the upper side of St. James's Park at London, Mr. Horace Walpole's house, Mr. Robinson's house at Rookby Park in Yorkshire, Sir William Wentworth's house in Yorkshire, Earl of Pembroke's house of Wilton, Wiltshire, Lord Weymouth's house of Longleat, Wiltshire, Duke of Queensberry's house of Drumlanrig, Dumfriesshire, and a house near Twickenham (Twitinhame), Middlesex: 1718-30. Architect: John, Earl of Mar. And including:- Plan of the grounds at Twickenham (Twitinhame): 1711. (No.67). Surveyor: John, Earl of Mar.
