Description |
'Plan of the barony of Findlater.' Surveyed by Peter May (1761) and renewed by Robert Johnston (1795). [1:2700] 1 inch = 3 Scots chains. 1110 x 1250 mm. Ink and colourwash. Linen backing. Compass rose. Plan of the lands and barony of Findlater from Sandend to the How of Port Lung on the coast and from Dytoch to White House inland. Field acreages and boundaries shown along with quality of lands. Neighbouring lands named. Roads, wooded areas, and waterways shown. Table of contents. Elaborate vignette around title with urn and ruins of Findlater Castle behind. Drawing of a sailing ship at sea. |
