'Plan of the estate of Bowland, the property of Mark Watt Esq.' By John Leslie, Edinburgh.
1 inch = 4 1/2 English chains. 1219 x 1480 mm, on sheet 1240 x 1512 mm. Dissected into 4 sheets. Ink and colour wash. Relief by grey wash. Annotated in graphite. Linen backing. Compass rose.
Estate plan of Bowland showing land use, with fields coloured and named. Gala Water, Cadden Water and Glentennar Burn noted. Route of current and new turnpike road shown. Names of adjacent lands and owners. Table of contents giving acreages of fields and plantings. Title ornamented with vignette of huntsman with gun and two dogs standing in landscape scene. |
