'Plan of the grounds adjacent to the spring that supplied Tranent with water'. Copied by Robert H Durie from plan by J Brydone [James Brydon], Junior, dated 1831. [1:3600] 1 in = 4.5 Imperial chains 55 x 75 cm Plan of Tranent and surrounding lands showing location of levels and coal pits. All pits named and stated whether working or not. Wagonway, quarry, North Elphinstone (Clout Houses), East and Windygoul, wells, reservoir for water supply to east end of Tranent, old and new post-roads and individual buildings in village noted. |
