Description |
'Plan & Section of a proposed Line of Road from Mount Lothian Lime Kiln to the Salters Road near Newbigging Hill'. Surveyed by Thomas Grainger. [1:2400] 1/2 inch = 100 feet. 484 x 2159 mm. Ink and colour wash. Linen backing. Plan of new line of road between Mount Lothian lime kiln [at Cockmuir Bridge] to Salters Road. Buildings marked and named. Old Lime Kilns marked. Section of new line with measurements given and notable points marked along it. Note 1: 'This is the Plan referred to in our contract (signed) R N Ramsay. John M Donald. Lewis Markison. John Stuart. Thomas Stevenson'. Note 2: 'The line coloured yellow is the one along which the accompanying section was taken and is the one laid off on the ground. Edinburgh 15 January 1827. (signed) G & M'. |
